Fiona received her honour at the MRS
Awards Dinner in London on December 14th
2009, with the judges specifically
referencing her contribution to qualitative
research recruitment in addition to her other
notable achievements

Saros is hugely proud that the
Market Research Society has decided to honour
our Director Fiona Jack as one of its Fellows
for 2009, in recognition of her exceptional
contributions to the industry over many
years. Although Saros Research and
Green Light Research are operationally quite
separate, we gain so much from the weath of
experience a partner of this calibre lends to
our service - and we're very happy that the
MRS have realised how great she is too.
A great night was had by all especially as
Amelia Coulam and Andrea Higgins from Green
Light Research also won the Prosper Riley
Smith award for a project for Centerparcs,
recruited by Saros earlier this
year

MRS Standards and Data
Security
In December Maya attended a special briefing on
Data Security standards organised by the MRS Company Partner
scheme, this included a very useful Q+A by MRS Standards and
Policy Manager Barry Ryan. Maintaining high standards
in this critical area is vitally important for Saros, as so
many thouands of members of the public trust us with their
detailed contact and demographic information (including
sensitive information such as income levels, ethnicity,
childrens' ages etc).
Over 30,000 NEW people have chosen to trust us
with their registration data this year, and we are committed
to remaining abreast of all developments in data security, in
order to reassure our members and attract the widest possible
pool of potential respondents for your research
projects. We already know we have many Saros members
who are registered with the Mail and Telephone Preference
Services, and who simply cannot be reached by traditional
call centres - accessing this growing segment of consumers is
crucial for your qualitative projects to be
representative. But we don't take anybody's trust for
granted, and continue to do all we can to protect and
reassure both our members' and our clients' confidential
information.

Office Holiday
Dates....
For your information, the Saros office will be
closed from the end of Wednesday December 23rd, reopening on
Monday 4th January . If you have an urgent fieldwork
requirement for early in the new year please ensure you send
full details to both maya@sarosresearch.com
and coleen@sarosresearch.com,
ideally well before the 23rd, as email will be checked only
very intermittently through the break and we are already
booking in plenty of projects for early January.
This year was
certainly an interesting one and it helped us all to keep learning
and growing. We wish all our clients and friends a wonderful
holiday, and every success and happiness in the new year, and we
look forward to serving you well in the 2010
